You Could Win a 2011 Wrangler... Yes You!

Hello Rock-Biting Jeepers!
As you probably already know, King of the Hammers was another amazing, daring, surprising, thrilling race! This year it was even better for the viewers with a huge JumboTron showing the 160 miles of desert racing live in HammerTown.
If you watched it online, the feed you were getting was the same feed we got in HammerTown from the JumboTron. Very impressive.
Just as impressive, at least to those who are biased like me, is the great response to our growing line of suspension products.
The four options on our JK Wrangler suspension kits give you a choice between a basic Lift Kit, the Full Package without the 6Paks, the Full Package without the Control Arms, or the Game Changer itself... the full complete awesome kit that is getting rave reviews all over the web.
Similar packages will be coming for the TJ/LJ and we already have YJ and CJ owners sporting the 6Paks and loving the results.
This week I want to share some more details about our Patent Pending Joint, the Duroflex, and an update on the CA4WD raffle Jeep that SOME of you have a great chance to win...

The Duroflex Joint...
When we decided to enter the field of suspension systems, we approached it with the same driving force that has brought so many Game-Changing products and standards from Metalcloak.
The first step was the 6Pak shocks, proving the most travel relative to its compact size, which led to the development of the Dual Rate coils giving the most free length of any relative size coils, which led to the develop of the Duroflex joint allowing our control arms to take advantage of all that travel.
Why the Duroflex? Well this diagram from our website says is all...
Header
We took the best features of the most widely used control arm joints and combine those features to create the Duroflex Joint, producing a Vibration Dampening, High-Misalignment (34˚), Self-Centering, Rebuildable Joint with an OEM quality ride.
What does this mean?
It means that a lifted Jeep no longer has to be a lousy ride on the road. It means that you can take your Jeep or other project rig, install our joints on your control arms (or buy our arms) and IMMEDIATELY improve the ride ON and OFF road.
And they LAST! We've put them on our JK over a year ago and have easily put over 10,000 miles of both blacktop (Road & Highway) and dirt (Death Valley & the Rubicon) on it and there has been NO visible signs of wear.
I am not sure how long they will last, but they are definitely lasting longer then your typical Johnny Joint style bushings.
In fact, if you are one of the thousands who replace the bushing in the JJ each year, we also provide a Johnny Joint Rebuild Kit.
Learn more about this High-Misalignment, Vibration Dampening, Fully Rebuildable Joint Here.

Why You May Win A 2011 JK Rubicon...
As you may know, each year the California Association of 4WD Clubs (CA4WD) gives away a raffle jeep. This is a very successful fundraising campaign for them and an exciting time for the winner.
The give away the Jeep every year at their Annual Convention. This year the Jeep is a 2011 JK 2-Door Rubicon. Not only does it feature our JK Hi-Clearance Overline fenders and body armor, it has a lot of other goodies from manufacturers all over.
But how can you win it? Buy raffle tickets of course!
However... if you put in an order with Metalcloak between November 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011 whose amount was over $100, then we bought a raffle ticket for you.
For who? For you! That's right... you are automatically entered to win a 2011 Mango Tango Rubicon 2 Door JK with Metalcloak Fenders and a whole lot more.
When is the drawing? The night of Saturday, February 25, during the annual dinner where clubs across the state are recognized for their community service and work.
So stand by the phones. If you put an order in the last two months of 2012, your name could very well be called (yes they will call you that night if you win and put you on live speaker phone.
Good Luck!

PIC OF THE WEEK...
Our Good Buddy Jeremiah Tompkins of HikeBikeDrive submitted this great pic of his 2 Door JK Wrangler with an awesome body matched paint jog on the fenders. You can find more pics of Jeep lovers everywhere on our wall at Facebook.com/metalcloak

The Metalcloak Website is a Changin'

Hello Rock-Biting Jeepers!
At Metalcloak we not only try to be game-changers with the product we build, but game-changers on our website as well.
Our last major iteration on our site was in the Fall of 2010, and since then we've focused on having the most amount of information, diagrams, descriptions and education on our site about our products while not really changing the overall flow of the site.
That will change in the next 24 hours.
Tonight our website will go offline sometime after 10:00 pm Pacific. It is expected to go back online before 6:00 AM Tuesday... if all goes well. ;-)
So please excuse the inconvenience if you wanted to check the status of an order, or drool over those 6Pak shocks, but we hope you will like the flow and function of the new site.
While not as big of a revolutionary change when we went from the industry standard "Hard-Core" All-Over Black site to a cleaner, friendly white (a change the was instantly duplicated by many others), we wanted to follow the trends of the webs bests sites and give you more to see, but with less confusion to get there.
Please feel free to view the site tomorrow and send us ANY comments, feedbacks or errors you find.
We don't design the site for our own egos, we build them for you to use. So please let us know how you are using it.
See you on the rocks...

KOH, Corner Travel Index, and pic of the week!

Hello Rock-Biting Jeepers!
This week marks the sixth anniversary of 12 crazy guys who visited a desolate desert in California and ran a race in their rigs just to see if it could be done.
We know this race now as the King of the Hammers and those original 12 have grown into a race of 100 rigs, thousands of attendees and millions of fans worldwide.
And of course, because it is our duty, we will be there. And we hope you will be there too, if not in person, then on the air watching it live through Ustream (http://www.ustream.tv/ultra4) or at Ultra4Racing.com
Hopefully we will see you out there.
In the meantime, I'd like to introduce you this week to Corner Travel Index and our 5.5" TJ Long Travel Upgrade kit.

Corner Travel Index (CTI)
We've all heard of RTI or Ramp Travel Index. That's the cool ramp that clubs bring out to events to measure just how much articulation you can get. Or is it?
Really, RTI is a fun gimick that gives the driver a thrill, and give some sort of standardized score so that we can all compete and be impressed by how we did.
In the development of our new line of suspension products, we realized that RTI was not an effective measure of what a suspension can REALLY do.
Not that we were complaining about our RTI scores, heck out $3999 JK Short Arm kit we dubbed the "Game Changer" has scored higher on the RTI then Any JK we've tested so far, including one with EVO's double throwdown suspension that can cost three to four times as much.
No, we decided to create a testing system that WORKS. Just like we create the best working products, products that change the industry, we decided to define a new testing system.
That system is called the Corner Travel Index. There is a detailed Wikipedia article describing it in full, but essentially the Corner Travel Index, or CTI, measures the distance tires from opposing corners can rise off the ground. It does not matter what your tire size is, what your wheelbase is, or the angle of the ramp. All that matters is how high two tires from opposing corners raised off the ground simultaneously before another, third tire came off the ground.
CTI can be done by anyone and we are developing a separate website to collect and manage CTI information from around the world at CornerTravelIndex.com
So read the wikipedia article, grab a couple fork-lifts and let us know how you measure up!

PIC OF THE WEEK...
You've just got to love a guy who isn't scared of a little mud... Blake Talton of Smyrna, Tennessee posted this great pic on our Facebook wall at Facebook.com/metalcloak
