5-Bullet Friday - October 16, 2015

FOR YOUR JEEP:  Having a winch is an important part of being prepared for Jeeping... and to date, winching has been about hooks and shackles. We just replaced all the hooks on the Metalcloak rigs with the Factor55 Safety Thimbles. They are beefy, look awesome, and incredibly functional. Hope you can check them out.  FOR YOUR TUMMY:  Can you say "Swineapple" - damn this looks good. As if boneless ribs wasn't good enough, they had to wrap it in pineapple and then wrap all that goodness with Bacon... :drool: You can find the recipe here and let me know if you try it. FOR SELF DEFENSE:  I became friends with the guys at Ammo Supply Warehouse in Las Vegas after one of their Jeeps got Cloak'd. Their prices are great and their service is excellent. They are fast becoming our goto supplier.   FOR YOUR GO BAG:  When the Zombie apocalypse happens, you're gonna need the Ultimate Zombie Weapon. Right? I mean how else are you going to defeat the living dead after you run out of Ammo?   FOR FIRST AID:  You can never have enough first aid, and while I carry a modified version of this kit from REI with me at all times (I've had it for over 8 years), I found this one from Adventure Aid with over 83 supplies. BTW, I always add batteries, a small knife, hand warmers, matches, Advil and iodine pills to my first aid kits. There is also a great article from Badlands Off Road Adventure on how to build a first aid kit.

New Steering Kit, 102 Off Road Tips and Pic of the Week

Greetings!

What a week! The Pomona Off Road Expo was a blast and from there the week has just been a whirlwind!

Between recording several future episodes of our new ModernJeeping Podcast (more info coming soon), releasing the New & Updated 102 Off Road Tips and being the guest on the High Sierra 4x4 Podcast, things have just been on fire!

Along with all that, we've had great feedback on our new Skid Plates for the JK, the Exclusive Rocksport Shocks and the new Game-Changing Tie Rods.

FOR YOUR JEEP:  Okay, time to talk about my own products this week... have you seen the new Tie Rod? Gotta say, I like it. Dog legged rod ends, anti-flop features, and they work with stock wheels and stock backspacing.   FOR A GOOD READ:  Just picked up Glenn Beck's Agenda 21: Into the Shadows, the sequel to his hit best seller, Agenda 21, which I finished a couple months ago. It is a hard hitting view of a future that is the result of people forgetting what makes this country great, forgetting what it means to stand up and fight for our rights as Americans.  FOR YOUR COFFEE:  So, the other day, on my way out of town for Off Road Expo, I picked up this 20oz Stainless Steel Travel Mug... the amazing part is I put coffee it it at 8:30 and it was STILL HOT at 1:30. Not bad for something you can pick up for $9 at WalMart.   FOR A QUICK HIKE:  My friend Scott Becker found this great Ultralight Backpack at WalMart for only $13! I used it on my ascension of Mt Whitney and for the price, it is a great option for a grab & go bag.    FOR YOUR TUMMY:  Bacon. It goes good with everything, right? I just inhaled a bag of Trader Joe's Baconesque White Cheddar Popcorn. Did I say inhaled. Yeah. Time for bag two.

5-Bullet Friday - October 2, 2015

Here is your next edition of 5-Bullet Friday - some cool stuff this week - be the first to share it with your friends.

FOR YOUR JEEP:  Some multi-tools are funky (can you say business-card multi-tool?), some are professional grade (Leatherman, anyone?), and some are just fun! Check out Quadratec's Multi-Function Trail Shovel - blades, whistle, axe, fire-starter and so... much... more... FOR YOUR HOME:  I recently tossed the Samsung Blu-Ray Player with built in Surround Sound cuz it didn't work with my other devices - and replaced it with a cheaper basic Samsung Blu-Ray Player and a full-spectrum 330W Sound Bar by Sony... while not having the surround sound, the Sony Sound Bar is (1) a HDMI hub that all my devices can go through and (2) has AWESOME sound.   FOR YOUR BUCKET LIST:  Can you believe this? I'm not sure I will ever be able to do it, but, damn, it looks like fun. Just the height of it would freak most people out... then to have to step off. Yeah, that would be life-changing.   FOR THE GO-BAG:  Bought this 20 degree sleeping bag by Teton a couple months ago and tested it for the first time at Cantina-for-the-Con. At only 2.9 lbs it is comparable in weight to bags that cost 3 times as much. Overall I was incredibly happy with the warmth, though the size was a little restrictive for a man with my girth. ;-)   FOR THE NEW JEEPER:  Did you ever get a copy of Metalcloak's 101 Off-Roading Tips?
