5-Bullet Friday - November 27, 2015

Here is your special Thanksgiving edition of 5-Bullet Friday, a few things that caught my attention yesterday that I thought were worth sharing with you...
  • FOR THE HISTORY:  Have you ever considered the Real Story of Thanksgiving? It's not what we were taught in school. The real story is all about the roots of American industriousness and capitalism.
  • FOR THE TABLE CONVERSATION:  The Thanksgiving table is always a great place to share what you are thankful for and to spur lively debate about politics, religion, whatever. Whether you're conservative or liberal, there is a guide for you in hand on how to deal with the other side.
  • FOR THE MAIN COURSE:  I love food innovation. Thanksgiving seems to be the one time of the year we are willing to go overboard with food preparation. The Turducken is just one amazing example. If you can splurge for one, go for it. Definitely easier to buy one then to try and do it yourself. Innovation with food just makes Thanksgiving that much better.

  • FOR DESERT:  The biggest question at desert time is which pie to have? Apple? Cherry? or Pumpkin? Well I did all three with one of these

  • FOR THE DAY AFTER:   The Day After... AKA Black Friday. Here is a great survival guide.
Thank you for being a part of 5-Bullet Fridays! If you missed previous 5-Bullet Friday's, you can catch up here.

Remember, if you like 5-Bullet Fridays, please share.

A Thanksgiving Message...

Hello Blogger,

Thanksgiving is special.

Of all the holidays, it represents something so deeply rooted in our culture -- so deeply ingrained -- that I find it important to remember what Thanksgiving is about, how it came to be, and what I am thankful for everyday.

The story of Thanksgiving is a story of perseverance and industriousness. Of individual success and ingenuity.

It is a celebration of the success of a few good people, their faith in God, and their journey in establishing a new life on fertile land - learning from the native inhabitants and using what became the root of American capitalism to succeed.

On this day, we are giving Thanks to those brave souls who set the stage for what would eventually become these United States of America.

As I am filling my plate with Turkey and Stuffing today, I will be thankful for that and much, much, more.

I will be thankful for my growing family, for my friends, for the strength of my team at Metalcloak, for the Men & Women around the world who serve to protect our Freedoms every day, but most of all, I will be thankful for you, our amazing customers.

It is you that have made this all possible. Every day I am grateful for your generosity, for your support, for your ideas, for your help, for your willingness to share, and for your love of the sport and lifestyle that makes our industry so much fun.

So today, let me say THANK YOU!

Thank you and God Bless,

Matson

5-Bullet Friday - November 20, 2015

Hi, just a reminder that you're receiving this email because you signed up for 5-Bullet Fridays...

Five things that I find compelling, interesting and worth sharing with you, my incredible friends...
Hello Blogger!

Here is your weekly fill of 5-Bullet Friday, a few things that I found of interest this last week...
  • FOR YOUR JEEP:  Axia Alloys. Damn. Probably some of the nicest mounts I've ever seen. The perfect accessory to add that next level to your rig.
  • FOR THE OVERLANDER:  This rack system from Kargo Master is pretty cool. Not only is it sturdy and capable of handling a large load, but the door hinge mounted steps and the walkway in front of the windshield work incredibly well. We had this on our Overland JK for a few months and were very impressed.
  • FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION:  I try not to get political here, but as The Trail PAC says, "All Trail Decisions are Political Decisions." With the presidential election cycle looming in the news every day, you should follow The Trail PAC (PAC stands for Political Action Committee) to learn which candidates are better for our sport.

  • FOR A GOOD READ:   Whether or not you enjoy reading about history, I just finished Walter Isaacson's biography of Benjamin Franklin. This one book does more to help you understand what our country way like and what it took to secure our liberties then anything I've ever read. It also explains why Franklin is such an important figure in the history of our nation and how, in his time, he was the most famous American in the world.

  • FOR A GOOD BLADE:  This knife designed by "Survivorman" Les Stroud is not light by any means, so it doesn't make for an ultra-light backpacking tool, but it is purpose-built to take abuse and last in survival situations. The sheath, while goofy looking, contains flint, a whistle, reflective mirror and more.

New Products, Good Tidings, and the Pic of the Week

T'is the season, right? The season for indulgence in foods, for family time, for playing with your rig in the snow and planning your next mod.

And at Metalcloak, it is the season of new product releases. It seems like everyday I'm given a new product to go live on the website. Sometimes it is completely new, like our JK EVAP Canister Concealment Kit, other times it is a new configuration of our suspension components like the Fox Edition TJ Lock-N-Load Long Arm.

Either way, I'm glad I have this weekly opportunity to share a few new products with you as well as announce our Pic of the Week.

Cheers!

Matson

P.S. Have you signed up for 5-Bullet Friday's yet? Come on... do it, it won't hurt. ;-)

JK Wrangler EVAP Canister Concealment Kit.

We were just going to call this a relocation kit, but when I looked at how concealed and protected it was, the name changed. Easy to install, it goes where Jeep should have put it in the first place.
